- On 28 April 2023, the Disciplinary Panel of the Hungarian National Anti-Doping Organization (HUNADO) imposed a four-year period of ineligibility on Tamás Kenderesi due to haematological abnormalities detected in his Athlete Biological Passport (ABP), indicating the use of blood doping.
- The Athlete appealed the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
On 27 February 2025, the CAS Panel upheld the first-instance decision and confirmed the four-year sanction.
Dismissing the appeal, the CAS ordered Mr Kenderesi to bear the arbitration costs and to partially compensate HUNADO’s legal expenses. - Mr Kenderesi subsequently filed an appeal with the Swiss Federal Supreme Court.
The Swiss Supreme Court dismissed the appeal, upheld the CAS decision in its entirety, and ordered the Athlete to compensate HUNADO for its costs.
The decision of the Swiss Federal Supreme Court is available here. - No further appeal is available in this matter.
