On 12 June 2025, national anti-doping organisations (NADOs) from 34 European countries gathered in Bergen, Norway, for the Council of Europe and Norway’s joint anti-doping conference, titled “Bringing European NADOs together.”

 

Dr Gergely Balázs Szabó, Legal Director of HUNADO – who has been contributing to the Council of Europe’s Anti-Doping Working Group since 2024 – was invited to speak at the event. In his presentation, he addressed the untapped opportunities of enhanced international cooperation in the field of anti-doping.

 

The high-level conference featured keynote speeches by Witold Bańka (President, WADA), Olivier Niggli (Director General, WADA), Bjørn Berge (Secretary General, Council of Europe), and Erlend Hanstveit (State Secretary, Norwegian Ministry of Culture and Equality).
