Retire from active participation in sport

Dear Athletes,

We kindly ask you to inform HUNADO, as well as your National/International Federation about your retirement of your active participation in sport.

RTP and TP athletes: HUNADO has issued separate forms for this purpose, please see below. The retirement becomes effective towards HUNADO only when the form is completed and sent to HUNADO.

Non-testing pool members: the retirement becomes effective against HUNADO when the athlete declares in a letter sent to info@antidopping.hu that a) he/she has ended his/her active athletic career and b) he/she has notified his/her national federation.

Legal effects of retirement:

A/ RTP athlete:
Upon receipt of the retirement form, HUNADO will notify the Athlete of his/her removal of the HUNADO registered testing pool, after which the Athlete will not be required to provide whereabouts.
However, an Athlete who announces his/her retirement may in future only return to competition at international events or national events if he/she has informed HUNADO in writing six months prior to his/her planned return and is available for testing during this period (including the obligation to provide whereabouts if requested by HUNADO). We therefore recommend that Athletes who only wish to retire temporarily should comply with the above notification obligation. Failure to comply with the obligation of prior notification referred to in above will result in the annulment of the sporting results achieved after the "irregular return".

B/ TP athlete:
Upon receipt of the retirement form, HUNADO will notify the Athlete of his/her removal of the HUNADO testing pool, after which the Athlete will not be required to provide whereabouts.

Thanking you for your cooperation,
